About The Teacher
Bliss Hippy is Richard and Maureen Hall. Bliss Hippy is a nationally touring act who calls Rolla, MO their home and Heartwood Refuge their home away from home. Their Americana/Folk style has been delighting audiences for more than 20 years.
“We love supporting Heartwood with our music because it is truly a place of peace and a refuge. Although Heartwood Refuge has a Buddhist taproot it is open to people of all faiths. So many activities happen here that serve to ease the suffering of living beings, including the weekly Dharma on Sundays and Tuesdays, taught by the Venerables Pannavati and Pannadipa, Thursday Dharma Contemplation, monthly Interfaith Devotionals meetings, weekly Refuge Recovery Meetings. Heartwood hosts many residential meditation retreats throughout the year. There are also opportunities for Self-Directed Retreats for those looking for a place to jump start their spiritual practice. The Self-Directed Retreats are also available for writers, graphic artists, songwriters and many other creative people looking for a quiet peaceful place to focus on their art or writing. I have written some of my best songs at Heartwood.” Maureen Hall
Bliss Hippy’s song writing is deceptively simple, childlike and often funny – yet at the same time surprisingly profound.
