Nishta Matarese

About The Teacher

Nishta was born in the USA and attended Northeastern University in Boston at the school of Psychology. She worked for 10+ years in the field of social services and counselling before finding a passion for producing holistic, wellness and spiritual events in Hawaii where she lived for 20 years and was Director of Marketing and Programs at The Studio Maui.

There she was fortunate to study with several masters of Conscious Dance, including Gabrielle Roth of New Yorks 5Rhythms school, Vinn Arjuna Martì, creator of Soul Motion and Daria Halprin of the Tamalpa Institute.

She is a long time conscious mover, yogini, meditator, and Argentine tango teacher. She is a disciple of Osho and a student of the Ridhwan Diamond Approach School. All of these things colour the way she facilitates movement and process explorations where psychology and creative arts meets the bodymind and spirit. Her teaching style is heartfelt, humorous, clear and transformative. Her passion is to share with others what it means to her to live a more full and authentic life.

She currently lives in Italy and her work is called Open Life Dance. She is co-founder at Conscious Dance Italy - a production and educational resource for Italian movers. She is a certified International Open Floor teacher, an embodiment education and movement school out of the San Francisco Bay Area; a body of work and method she is passionate about teaching.
