About The Teacher

Allison Hunter Hill is an Associate Editor at Page Street Kids, where she currently acquires children’s picture books. She was previously an Assistant Editor at Candlewick Press and was privileged to work closely on picture books, middle grade, poetry, and young adult books from a wide range of beloved and best-selling authors and illustrators. She has also worked for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the Jenny Bent Literary Agency, and received an M.A. in Children’s Literature and an M.S. in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. The first decade of her career was spent working in public libraries, specifically youth services. Allison is a second-generation librarian–a fact her father says she is legally obligated to mention.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with basic goodness in an environment of people who share a vision for a better society. Wimberly

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
