About The Teacher

Shauna Jade Larson is a certified yoga and meditation instructor with more than 16 years experience. She offers the practice of yoga and meditation from her private studio in British Columbia and teaches group and private yoga, both in-person and virtually. In her classes, she incorporates Hatha, Kundalini, Vinyasa, and Iyengar methods for restorative and revitalizing benefits. She possesses a compassionate quality through her teachings and mentors her clients in a holistic approach through yoga therapy, prenatal/postnatal yoga, trauma-informed yoga, interoception yoga, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and mindful meditation.

In 2004, Shauna undertook her first teacher training in Kundalini Yoga and Meditation from the Kundalini Research Institute. She completed over 365 days of silent retreat practice in a Buddhist seminary. In 2018, she trained in Healing Trauma Through Yoga Training (Trauma Centre Trauma-Sensitive Yoga - TCTSY). Shauna combines trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness practices into her teachings for a non-hierarchical approach in moving the body, mind and heart towards balance and health.

      Wonderful Experience

    I have been fortunate to attend a retreat with Shauna as a facilitator. She guides the participants with skill, warmth and patience. Loved the silent meditations as well as walking meditations. Hope to be able one day to attend another retreat.

      Prenatal Yoga and beyond :)

    I found Shauna after researching private yoga instructors in Montreal, when I was pregnant with my son. I worked with her through my second and third trimester and I often look back to that time as the time during which I felt my absolute best. My labour and delivery went really smoothly and I gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby boy, right on his due date. I am now expecting my second child and have been working with Shauna since my first trimester (although more intensely since the second trimester) via skype sessions - this pregnancy has been more difficult for me, physically and emotionally, but I know that the yoga I do with Shauna (and on a daily basis, based on the routine Shauna gives me every week) has supported me and made me feel strong - I am 8 months pregnant, working full time and finishing my Masters Thesis, and I am doing pretty great! Shauna's intuitive and individualized approach has really supported me through both pregnancies and beyond - I was able to reach out to Shauna with my issues (hormonal/post-partum) after my first child was born and I know that I will be doing the same after my second is born. Shauna is a true gem - I am lucky to have found her and I recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a more individualized practice! Anna (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
