About The Teacher

Mya Wollf  is a Yogi, Singer, initiated Traditional Healer, Spirit Worker and Minister, budding Expressive Arts Therapist and semi-pro latin dancer based out of Vancouver, BC, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded Indigenous territories of the ʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations. Here she walks as light of a path as she can as a white settler, and participates as deeply as she can in decolonization and anti-colonial work through the reclamation and sharing of ancestral knowledge and traditional forms of healing.  She also works tirelessly in service to her LGBTQIA community to provide safe, accessible spaces for all genders and identities to find healing.

In the realm of yoga, she is a 500hr advanced certified teacher in the Dharma tradition which follows the teachings of her Guru, Sri Dharma Mittra.  She has roots in Anusara, Jivamukti, Tantra and Yin, with 14 years of practice, 8 years of teaching and nearly 1000 hours of training and study.  Her classes weave in her love of music and song with devotion (Bhakti) to the ancient yogic traditions as taught in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and are an endless dedication to compassion, freedom and wellbeing for all.

She is an active supporter of anti-oppression work, including Indigenous resistance against resource extraction, anti-racist campaigns, wildlife conservation, forest/jungle preservation, migrant and workers rights and animal liberation.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My inspiration is a desire to gain a deeper connection to and understanding of myself, something that I've been working hard on for so long and will continue to do in the future. I view a retreat as a wonderful way to focus entirely on this without the distractions of every day life! Nicola

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
