About The Teacher

IMG_3826A lifelong outdoorsman, David Martin (AKA Ranger Pine) has been an Environmental Educator at the Pueblo Mountain Park for the last decade. His passion is connecting people of all ages to Nature. Although his time is mostly dedicated to executing the elementary level education programs and camps at the Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center’s mountain and river campuses, he also writes, teaches and guides hikes on the side, most notably guiding seasonal forages for wild mushrooms and medicinal herbs of the mountain and canyon west. He is a proponent of conscious living and mindfulness, he is a published writer and poet and is the founding editor of Middle Creek Publishing, Colorado’s premier small, independent press dedicated to the literature of human ecology.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Rest and inner calm. Karen
