About The Teacher
Noémi Kiss was born in Hungary into a family that sang freely and encouraged her to sing. She studied at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, England. She graduated as voice teacher and an early music specialist. She has spent the last 20 years performing at many of Europe’s concert halls as a soprano soloist, as well as
teaching voice and giving masterclasses and workshops in Europe and Canada. For the last two years, she has conducted Nelson’s Cottonwood Choir. Noémi was always on a path of inquiry, being interested in the complexities of the heart, body, and mind and their connection with voice. She was introduced to kinesiology at a young age; from then on she’s been passionate about the relationship between body and voice, the body’s guiding wisdom, and the therapeutic value of singing. As a compatriot of Zoltán Kodály, pioneering music educator, Noémi strongly believes that everyone can sing and should be given the opportunity to do so.
“Singing is our birthright; it is the most intimate connection with our self, the most beautiful and available tool for self-discovery, and a source of freedom and joy.” Noémi met Ruth soon after coming to Canada in 2008. Their friendship and collaboration has grown since then through singing together, exploring energy healing, and giving workshops. Noémi recently completed training in sound healing with Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls and is now applying that to her teaching work, as well as offering group and private sessions to facilitate healing, balance energies, and create a sense of peace, love and joy.Source: sentinelbc.secure.retreat.guru
