About The Teacher

Born and raised in the north Atlantic, moving south for the love of the sun and warmth, Elma is an Icelandic yoga teacher based in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, where she now shares her knowledge of yoga. She had been practicing yoga for 6 years when she got the urge to dig deeper into her practice which let her to Maun Van in north of India where she did her 200hr teacher training with Guru Vijay and Klara Ka. There she gained a more thorough understanding of the traditional Hatha yoga principles, including how to use Kriyas and Pranayama to prepare the mind and body to go deeper within. She now focuses her teachings on Hatha yoga, Vinyasa and body awareness.

Yoga has played a big role in her spiritual growth which she attempts to share with others through her yoga classes. She seeks to help people find their inner power, gain more confidence and peace of mind, encouraging them to take their practice with them off the mat. Her classes will be characterized by heart and hip openers giving you a chance to open what needs to be open and release what needs to be released. Each class ends with a deep Savasana allowing you to relax and let go completely. She'll focus on the benefits of the poses and how they connect to emotional anatomy giving you tools to take with you back home.

Elma: "I strongly believe in the healing power of yoga. Emotional anatomy can be a great tool to get to know ourselves better. I am happy I can offer that experience to the women in Aha Woman retreats".
