About The Teacher
Nestor Castro, born in Guadalajara, was first introduced to sacred medicine use as a child when he contracted a chronic infection at the age of 11 that western medicine could not cure. His family sought traditional alternatives in a community called Teopantill Kalpulli where a combination of temazcal and healing plant medicines was able to cure him. Nestor's spiritual journey commensed with a sacred mushroom encounter at 16 when he found a patch of native mushrooms that seemed to be calling to him. He learned that he had found the sacred mushroom and shortly thereafter, during a temazcal ceremony, met Fernando Delgadillo Lopez who became his teacher. Thus began Nestor's training in the indigenous use of temazcal in combination with sacred medicines. Upon Fernando's passing, Nestor stepped into the role of medicine guide for his community. His compassionate and professional practice is firmly rooted in nature and traditional techniques with little regard for profit or recognition.
