About The Teacher
An athlete. A yogi. A mother.
Those are the three words that describe Nathalie, those are the words you would get if you asked anyone who knew her to explain her in three words. With the exception of maybe her daughter and co-owner of InDepth Yoga Academy, Ana, who would instead use words like crazy, weird and "talks way too much during movies", knowing that that is not three words at all.
Nathalie is the founder and lead instructor of InDepth Yoga Academy, she is a former athlete and professional coach with 20 years experience in strength and conditioning, as well as nutrition and rehabilitation. She now works as a full-time yoga teacher trainer and travels around the world proving YTTc programs, workshops, and retreats.
She retired from muay Thai only 5 years ago, hung up her boxing gloves and rolled out a yoga mat and since then hasn't looked back. The spirit of the fighter never left her though, when she felt that the time was right she waltzed right into a gym and picked up her first lesson in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. That was 2 years ago. This month she won two gold medals in the open mats in New York and San Diego and another gold in Los Angeles Novice.
InDepth Yoga wasn't always at the back of her mind, she had a fighter's mentality and will, she pushed her body and mind to undergo insane exercises and hard kicks but in the moments where it mattered, she didn't feel centered. When she needed balance her coach sat her at the foot of the ring, told her to cross her legs, close her eyes and focus on the breath. That was her first introduction with yoga. In the few years that followed that she left boxing completely to follow her career in the practice that consumed and inspired her.
