About The Teacher

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (since 2000) as well as a Registered Yoga Teacher (since 2008) and owner of Sati Yoga, a yoga studio in the Atlanta area with an emphasis on the practice of mindfulness.  Prior to opening my studio in the summer of 2018, I owned a small counseling private practice for over 12 years.  Currently at my studio I teach yoga classes (including a free mindfulness class), lead workshops and offer life coaching as well as private yoga sessions.  My interest in Buddhism began in 2000 and was born out of a sincere desire to seek a deeper sense of peace and happiness.  My personal practice since then has evolved into a regular meditation practice that I have maintained for the past several years.  I have also attended, and continue to attend, meditation retreats as part of my practice, the longest being a month long silent retreat at Cloud Mountain Retreat Center.  My Buddhist practice is integral to every aspect of my life and I have a deep appreciation and respect for the teachings of the Buddha.  It is a lifelong practice that has helped me so much in my own life, and it is a joy and an honor for me to share this practice and teachings with others.

May all beings everywhere be happy.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Recenter, Rebalance, Renew..... I cannot provide nurture and wisdom to the people I love without the opportunity to fill up my own cup. Diane

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
