About The Teacher

Thomas Love is the founder of Sounds of Light, a Residential Mystery School of Sound Healing in Guatemala. Thomas is a sacred sound therapist, multi-instrumentalist, chocolate alchemist and retreat leader. The Cacao spirit guided Thomas into the field of sound healing 7 years ago where he has been creating and leading Chocolate Sound Healing journeys, retreats, trainings, events, Kirtans, and workshops all over the world.

He loves the alchemy of Sound and Chocolate and how it opens the heart, fires up our creativity and allows access to more of who we came to be. He works with an abundance of sacred instruments; tibetan singing bowls, gongs, flutes, monochords, harps, tuning forks, duduks, tampura, pre-hispanic sonic tools, crystal bowls, harmonium, shrutis, drums, chimes, bells and the power of our own voice. He weaves mystical sound landscapes that allow deep relaxation and opens portals to altered states of consciousness and soul activation. He holds space where everyone can feel safe to let go and experience the power of their voice in calling in their purpose, dreams and wisdom of their hearts – and his passion is to empower them to share this everywhere.

Thomas has over 20 years of experience in facilitation and teacher trainings and part of his talent is to pioneer creative learning environments for the new wave of sound healers and musical space holders calling in a New Earth of heart centered living. His main sound healing teachers are: John Beaulieu, Jonathan Goldman and Tom Kenyon. And his main vocal teachers are Sylvia Nakkach, Githa-Ben-David and Amit Carmeli. He has also studied Drupad singing in India with Uday Bhawalkar and Nirmalya Dey of the Dagar lineage.

He holds a master degree in Learning Design from Roskilde University and is a certified life coach. Before Sound Healing he was chief education consultant and trainer for Action Aid International empowering social movements through campaign and teacher trainings all over the Global South.

He is currently studying how to facilitate Dark and Light Shadow Embodyment as a mentee of Christian Pankhurst.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

This sounds like a dream! I am an education student and I have spent way too much time working all summer to pay for school. My boyfriend of 5 years is a government firefighter and has been away working most of the summer. His 30th Birthday and our 6th anniversary is coming up this winter, we would love to celebrate with a yoga retreat! We both love yoga but have barley had time to practice in the past few months. Keeping our fingers crossed! Jaimee and Dan
