About The Teacher

For the past decade, Courtney Brooke has traveled the world teaching permaculture and promoting healing through earth connection. She moved from New Zealand back to Appalachia where she now resides at Earthaven Ecovillage. She studied at The Odum School of Ecology and currently practices ecological design, holistic management and teaches permaculture with Living Systems Design. As a designer and teacher, Courtney Brooke’s passion is helping folks sink into a deep sense of belonging to their landscape Her work helps facilitate an integrative and deepening connection to place through landscape design, Deep Ecology work, sacred space design, and earth-based ritual – including women’s rites of passage work. In her spare time she can be found wild foraging, homesteading and writing her book. Courtney is a registered facilitator of The Work That Reconnects and has studied with John Seed and Inna Alex. She has facilitated The Work at festivals, gatherings, retreats and permaculture courses.
