Jolien Lesage

About The Teacher

Jolien previously worked as a social worker and she now uses her skills and yoga teaching as a holistic practice to support people suffering from anxiety, stress and trauma.

Through studying health practices in Africa for her Masters degree in Cultural Anthropology and through her study of Yoga, she became familiar with a holistic perspective on health and well being.

While working in the social sector, she found this holistic perspective to be lacking, which motivated her to train in Yoga Therapy, Nutrition and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

She has been teaching for approximately two years, in studios in Belgium and in a school for ecotourism on a remote Indonesian island, Sumba - where she taught yoga to underprivileged teenagers and ran a program to empower victims of sexual violence.

She is passionate about exploring the mind-body connection and making Yoga Therapy available to communities in need. Connecting to one-self by linking mindful movement and breath, sits at the heart of her approach.
