About The Teacher

Sylvie has been a yoga instructor for over 30 years. She has studied extensively with masters in the fields of yoga, ayurveda, meditation, breath work and indigenous plant medicine. Some of her most influential teachers include Dr. Vasant Lad, Yogi Amrit Desai, Yogi Bhajan, Dr. Tom Goode, Rama Joyti Vernon, Marshall Govindan, Wim Hof, and Ramanand Patel. Her love of yoga and the healing arts continues to inspire her studies and adventurous spirit. In her classes, she draws on the wisdom of yoga, pranayama (breathing) and ayurveda to guide all levels of students toward the realization and manifestation of their highest good and highest potential.

Sylvie holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She studied ayurveda at The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico under Dr. Vasant Lad. She is an Ayurvedic counselor and a certified instructor of the Amrit Yoga Method – a hatha yoga based, kundalini yoga inspired practice created by Sri Yogi Amrit Desai, the founder of Kripalu and Amrit Yoga. Sylvie is the yoga instructor for YogAyahuasca retreats.

The Amrit Yoga practice has a spiritual focus to reveal the inner dimension of Yoga. This hatha – kundalini based yoga practice strengthens and aligns the energies of the body/mind/heart/spirit and awakens kundalini – the potent evolutionary life force energy within.
