Ira was born in Brazil to her indigenous native mother, a medicine midwife, and her Brazilian father of African roots. Ira grew up with the traditions and teachings of herbs, prayers, songs, drums, and dancing.
In 1994 Ira arrived in Mexico where she remains in love with these magical Mayan lands, where she’s connected with indigenous teachings, traditions, worldviews, and ancestral philosophies—initiated as a Guardian of Sacred Fire and the Cacao Ceremony.
Ira is a teacher of Yoga and Acroyoga, biodanza, and the female liberation dance that happens to be an essential part of her work as a therapist. She’s certified in Acupuncture and Massage Facial Skull by the Spanish School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing, and as a Sound Therapist from The Instituto Español De Sonoterapia. Ira also guides women's circles and sound healing therapies worldwide; she holds space for women's well-being through mind, body, and spirit connection mind, body, and spirit connections. She’s known throughout the world as a facilitator at Casa Mamá Yemi in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
