Marcel Vosloo

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Marcel found her love for yoga over a decade ago while sailing and diving all corners of the World. Even though taught in Ashtanga yoga, she’s developed a deep understanding of more mindful and calm practices out in nature, connecting with the energy that surrounds her. Marcel started meditating at a young age, and she incorporates different styles into her daily life, which brings balance to mind and body. As a dive instructor for many years she grew more and more interest in breathing techniques which she also applies to her daily life and yoga sessions. She has been hosting successful retreats since 2016 when she started Namaste Yoga Safaris, combining the perfect blend of yoga on safari while focusing on slowing down and connecting with yourself on a deeper level.

Marcel also worked as a travel consultant in Namibia, selling various safari tours in Southern African and applying what she’s learned to her own yoga safari’s. If you want to see and experience the best that Namibia or any other Southern African Countries has to offer, where days are filled with mindful yoga flows in nature, stay in carefully handpicked lodges close to all the National Parks and encounter wildlife up close and personal, then you have come to the right place. “Our retreats are taught by local and international yoga teachers and we welcome all levels from beginners to advance. Morning sessions are a usually a combination of vinyasa flows, guided meditation and breathing techniques to energize you for the day, where afternoon session are more relaxed (yin/hatha) as the sun sets and animals come out to play. We’ve had guests joining our retreats that did their first yoga session with us, advanced practitioners and yoga teachers, and even a few repeat guests coming for a second and third time. Groups are small allowing personal attention. It is a fun and a non-competitive environment, making it a peaceful healing space for anyone joining. It’s about you and connecting with yourself and nature, being mindful and having an adventure of a life time.
