is a musician, a linguist and scientist. With studies in performance as a violist and classical singer, physics, translation, interpretation and music therapy, she came to the field of healing and spirituality uniquely equipped to interpret and communicate their language. Her background is multi cultural: from her Celtic druidic roots in Britain, the Sufi teachings of her mother in the Beshara School for Esoteric learnin to the Fourth Way of Gurdjieff and Kabalistic studies. She also went through many years of yoga practice and meditation to modern masters in healing, psychotherapy, communication, personal development, tantra and cosmology.
Her journey has been varied and rich and taken her all over the world. Alyssan first participated in an ayahuasca ceremony in 2005 and knew at once that this was her destiny as a healer and musician. She has since studied with master ayahuasqueros Edinson Panduro, Alonso del Rio and Leonardo Inuma and partners her husband, Loyver, in his ceremonies and conducts her own. She brings her deep love for Mother Earth as a daughter of many mystery schools, cultures and climes to her work.

One of Alyssan's retreat participants died during the ceremony - and Alyssan did not notice. Alyssan did not check on the participant (left behind in the ceremony room) until morning. Alyssan has posted that she believes that there is no point of a participant's distress at which western medicine might be needed (see her post at https://www.facebook.com/alyssan.balmforth/posts/1228989883808857) News reports of the death can be found online - http://www.24horas.cl/internacional/peru-investiga-muerte-de-turista-estadounidense-en-sesion-de-ayahuasca-2184673
