Gabriela is a seeker, as well as a gifted and compassionate teacher. Since her early youth her longing has brought her to walk the paths of Christian Mysticism, Siddha Yoga, and Tibetan Buddhism. She has taught meditation and Yoga for over 20 years. She was first introduced to Hatha Yoga at the Ashram of Siddha Yoga in Ganespuri India in 1991. Since then she has had the opportunity to study with many teachers including Doug Keller, John Friend, Gabriella Guibilaro, Mary Dunn, Ana Forrest, Donna Fahri, Angela Farmer, and Van Kooten. In the mid nineties she met Dona Holleman and Orit Sen Gupta. She did her yoga training with them for five summers in Berkeley, California. She stayed for five weeks and practiced with her teachers at their homes in Jerusalem and Florence. Through those years she also met frequently with her study group in Mexico led by Herta Rogg. She has a special gratitude for John Friend and Orit Sen Gupta who taught her how to practice and understand yoga from inside and the joy of an open heart. She teaches in her own style from the teachings she has received and her own insights. She has also studied with John Demartini, and resonates deeply with the work of Katie Byron and Ken Wilber. They taught her that Spirit is what gives rise to good and bad, pain and pleasure, life and death and to let love be her aspiration and practice. She holds a degree in Teaching from the University of Texas at Austin and from the Association Montessori Internationale. She completed the School for the Work of Byron Katie (www.thework.com) in Bad Neuenahr Germany July, 2013. She lives in St. Margaret’s Bay Nova Scotia with her two daughters.
