About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Ella Baker is a poet, high school founder, and the first transgender college chancellor in the US.  She holds an MA in Interdisciplinary Humanities from NYU and a Doctorate of Education from USC. She is a dharma teacher in the Kwan Um School of Zen, took teaching precepts in 2025, and lives with her wife in the Baltimore area.
