About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Christine Bagley-Jones is an Australian psychologist, author and media commentator
and founder of Plenish Mind Health, a Queensland-based psychology and wellbeing practice.
Based in Brisbane, Christine has spent more than 25 years working within the mental health
and wellbeing space, helping people navigate emotional challenges, life transitions,
relationships, burnout, anxiety, grief, and personal transformation.

With a therapeutic style grounded in compassion, non-judgment, emotional insight,
and practical strategies, her work focuses not only on alleviating distress but also on helping
people cultivate a more meaningful, connected, and fulfilling life. Through retreats,
counselling sessions, public speaking, media appearances, she encourages people to
reconnect with themselves, strengthen emotional resilience, and create sustainable wellbeing
from the inside out.

Over the years, Christine has become a respected voice in Australian media on topics
relating to modern psychology. She is the resident psychologist on ABC Radio National.
Christine’s style is described as warm, grounded, insightful, and often humorous.
Rather than approaching psychology purely through a clinical lens, she frequently explores
the emotional narratives that shape people’s inner lives — the stories we carry about love,
worthiness, belonging, shame, identity, and connection. In interviews, she consistently
advocates for emotional honesty, help-seeking, community support, and self-compassion.

In addition to her retreat and counselling work, Christine hosts a podcast called
‘Finding the U in Mum’ where she interviews mothers who share their stories about how they
have maintained their identity and growth during the course of motherhood.
At the heart of Christine’s work is a belief that wellbeing is not simply the absence of
distress, but the active creation of a life filled with meaning, emotional safety, connection,
vitality, and self-understanding.

She is also the author of the best-selling book Creative Connections, a work that
reflects her longstanding passion for emotional wellbeing, human connection, creativity, and
personal transformation. Through the book, Christine explores the importance of authentic
relationships, self-expression, emotional awareness, and the ways people can reconnect with
meaning and purpose in their lives.
Due to the huge success of the book, Christine has created a companion online course
which includes eight modules reflecting each chapter of the book helping people to
practically advance and deepen their relationships starting with themselves.

A defining influence on Christine’s professional approach has been her advanced
training in the United States with internationally renowned researcher and author Brené
Brown, whose groundbreaking work on shame, vulnerability, courage, and wholehearted
living has transformed conversations around mental health and emotional resilience
worldwide. Christine became a certified facilitator in Brené Brown’s work, undertaking
specialised training in methodologies focused on empathy and courage. This training deeply
informs Christine’s therapeutic philosophy and retreat facilitation style, particularly her
emphasis on emotional honesty, self-compassion, and the understanding that vulnerability is
not weakness, but one of the foundations of healing and personal growth.

The ‘My Finest Life Project’ retreat reflects all Christine has gathered throughout her
decades of experience and training as a psychologist. She throws herself into the three days
where she gathers with people seeking to change their life and experience more love,
meaning and fulfilment. Over the course of the retreat she delves deeply into what holds
people back from finding true happiness. People describe the retreat experience as life-
changing, unique, immersive and very entertaining. It’s her proudest work and her greatest
accomplishment to serve and help people make the most of their life.

In her spare time, Christine adores spending time with her five children and husband
especially in the outdoors by the beach. She’s currently completing her certification to be a
yoga instructor and working on her second book.
