About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Jamy Myatt is a council trainer in the Ojai Foundation tradition who has spent 25 years leading council at Crossroads School, weaving the practice into the heart of learning for students in grades 6–12 and guiding countless senior rites of passage journeys. Beyond the classroom, Jamy has facilitated faculty, staff, and beloved parent councils, as well as council trainings for individuals launching community circles and affinity groups of their own. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Raised as the child of a Marine Corps officer, Jamy grew up constantly entering new communities—an experience that shaped her lifelong devotion to fostering connection and belonging. The practice of council became her answer to that calling, and she finds her greatest joy in inviting new groups into the depth of presence, listening, and relationship that council makes possible.
