Over the past 15 years, Darlene has experienced many teachings styles that have allowed her rhythmic Yoga style to bloom! Her teaching style and personal practice are based on listening and being guided from within. She teaches a playful and fluid approach to Yoga, emphasizing ease, gravity, lightness, and freedom. Exploration, creativity, and mindfulness are also a part of her approach. She believes that a Yoga practice can open your heart allowing your authentic nature to surface, thus allowing you to “Live Your Yoga.”
Two of Darlene’s main influences are Vanda Scaravelli and Erich Schiffmann. When Darlene lived in the Dallas area she fell in love with the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. Coming from an Iyengar and Ashtanga background, Darlene found the freedom of this approach refreshing. she enrolled in the Namaste International Teacher Training program, directed by Irene & Bill Beer. This program is registered with Yoga Alliance and at the time was based in the Toronto area. She received her 200-hour teacher training certificate in 2003 and her 500-hour teacher training certification in 2005.
Darlene teaches workshops and retreats throughout the U.S. as well as internationally. Read more about her at www.yogafromthegroundup.com
