About The Teacher

Trip has been practicing and teaching yoga for twelve years, focusing on Ashtanga, and Vaisnav Bhakti.

His works include the Yoga Prison Project teaching yoga in San Quentin Penitentiary to lifetime inmates, establishing free food kitchens around the United States, and direct actions with EarthFirst by sitting in old growth redwoods for months at a time without coming down to prevent loggers from deforesting thousands of square miles of pristine rain forest.
Trip’s greatest hope is to share with you the asanas and warmth he has practiced and shared living throughout India, working in various ashrams, studying in shalas around Europe and North America under many humbling and inspiring teachers, and living a life of constant travel and devotion.

He is very grateful to his teachers Dhanurdhara Swami, Dharma Mittra, Balu Thevar, and Adam Sobel.

“If you’re right, you’re right. If you’re wrong, you’re wrong. If you love, you’re neither right nor wrong.”

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I am an oncology nurse and a few long time patients have died recently. I need to rejuvenate and return to my breath! Elizabeth

Retreat Guru's Vision

Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
