About The Teacher
Carolyn brings a background in human services to her teaching, having worked as a social worker and educator for 35 years. A world traveler, athlete, and modern dancer, Carolyn was drawn to yoga and meditation for their transformational and healing benefits. Her classes flow with energy and vigor, providing all-level students with a safe yet challenging space to increase strength, flexibility, and balance while experiencing sensations of joy, release, and openness. Carolyn teaches at the Repose Yoga Studio in Newburyport, and offers individual and small group classes privately. Carolyn also provides yoga for the Safe Recovery Program, a residential treatment program where women can heal from the cycle of domestic violence, trauma and addiction. Carolyn is a certified Trauma Informed Mind Body Program facilitator with Yoga Hope, and completed her 500 RYT under the guidance of Claire Este-McDonald and Gregor Singleton. Carolyn is a member of the Insight Meditation Center of Newburyport where she studies and volunteers as a coordinator of the children’s programs. She is the founder of a weekly meditation group, and co-leads a new meditation/chanting experience at Repose Yoga Studio.
