David is extensively well-traveled in Gabon, Africa where he is known as Okukwe. During his time in Gabon he learned Bwiti traditions and ceremonial practices. Okukwe is the co founder of Oka Center. He is a Bwiti music enthusiast and likely the best mougongo player in the Americas while also being proficient on the ngombi (harp), supporting the peaceful dream state with rhythm and overtones. David helps to guide ceremonies at Oka Center, one of the only places in the western hemisphere that integrates a unique and sincere adaptation of BWITI - the beloved lifeway that uses Iboga as the central pillar for learning and evolution.
