About The Teacher
Tibetan Yantra Yoga Instructor, Certified Traditional Tibetan Medicine and Kunye Massage Pracitioner
In the essence of Traditional Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Yantra Yoga I discovered a simple truth: our body and mind are interdependent and the bridge between them is our energy. We can use our physical body to coordinate our energy by balancing our food and behavior, working with points on our body with Tibetan Kunye Massage and governing our breathe with awareness through Yantra Yoga. When we coordinate our energy our mind finds its natural relaxation. In today’s society there are more and more stresses leading to suffering related to uncoordinated energy such as insomnia, anxiety and depression. When our body is healthy, our energy is coordinated and our mind is naturally relaxed we can authentically enjoy this precious life we have. Tibetan Medicine and Yantra Yoga offer the time-tested knowledge to achieve this and I’m here to help you discover that.
Synchronizing every movement with conscious breathing we find ourselves in a perfectly relaxed state. In Yantra Yoga asanas you will find similarities to the popular Hatha Yoga, but the primary focus is on the breath, not the physical training of muscles and flexibility. Each yoga sequence performed in Yantra Yoga aims to guide the breath into a natural harmony with the mind and body. One of the oldest recorded systems of Yoga that exists in the world, for centuries Yantra was a closely guarded secret reserved for advanced yogic practitioners. In light of its universal benefits for humanity, Yantra Yoga was first introduced to the West in the 1970s by the famous Tibetan scholar and professor, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.
At this time there are only 7 authorized Yantra Yoga instructors in the US, 2 of which live in California. I teach Yantra Yoga in various venues – classes in yoga studios and local centers, health events, corporate wellness classes, festivals and more.
If you are interested in getting familiar with this unique method or wish to organize an illuminating class at your studio or presentation at your event, we are happy to collaborate with you.
In 2009 I graduated the first-ever Shang Shung Institute 4-year program of Traditional Tibetan Medicine receiving certification from Qinghai Universities Tibetan Medicine Department, one of the most prominent schools of Tibetan Medicine in Tibet, after doing 3 months of internship in their hospital and passing their final exams. In 2013 I was authorized to teach Yantra Yoga by Professor Namkhai Norbu, the founder of the Dzogchen Community and Shang Shung Institute.
