Maureen Walker
About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Maureen spends a lot of time studying body poses, muscle form and different costumes before starting a new piece. Her sculptures are typically as close to the human form as possible, albeit faceless. Each piece tells a story and has its own personality. Her sculptures are all completely weatherproof and come with instruction on how to care for them.
Maureen and her husband live full time in an RV where she does her sculpting, and yes, on the kitchen counter! She combs every second hand/thrift store she sees for usable items of clothing, doilies and props she can use for her sculptures. Aside from creating and selling here beautiful pieces, Maureen also teaches this art around the South Okanagan and Similkameen areas. She can be found at the Penticton Farmers Market about once a month during the season, on Facebook at paverpolwithMaureen
