Rawle James
About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Rawle was born in Trinidad and Tobago to Agnes Toppin and Neville James. He has lived in Curepe, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Toronto, Branford and Kelowna. Rawle spent over 20 years in the corporate world in a variety of roles performing various tasks alongside good-hearted and well-intentioned people. The business world was his university where he learned how to exploit all his abilities in exchange for creating value for his employers. It was also in the corporate world, where his purpose first reared itself through managing people and creating strategies that would attract and retain individuals.
Rawle is a community builder, facilitator, inspirational speaker, poet and transformation coach committed to enriching lives and building a community that is equitable, inclusive and respectful. His transformation from a victim mindset started when he heard a voice that asked a question and the answer led to a door where walking through meant doing ‘the work.’ With the assistance of two amazing earth angels and surrendering to ‘the work,’ he unlocked his passion for being of service to our humanity. Since moving to Kelowna, BC, Rawle has had the good fortune of connecting to the community through his various roles and undertakings as a football coach, teacher, speaker, cultural animator, spiritual mentor, the various board of director positions. He is the founder of the Inspired Word Café (www.inspiredwordcafe.com) and has self-published his first book of poetry called “Truth Experienced” back in 2012. Today, Rawle continues his work sin human and community development through debunking the myth of race.
Like others, I have many labels: father, son, brother, friend, poet. With all that I have achieved my greatest accomplishment is my kids: Harris, Zen and Irie. As much as I love all my roles, I am much more than those labels. I have fully embraced my purpose and walk by how to Love me and connecting to my worthiness. I no longer ask the question, who am I or why am I here for as he says, I am here to experience it all in the good graces of the universe.
