I make my home in Moh’kinstsis (Calgary, Alberta) on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, and the Métis Nation (Region 3). I see the Rocky Mountains on the horizon, enjoy the frequent Chinook winds and the always present big sky. I visit a secret wildflower sanctuary with Rosie (Havanese poodle) most days, and am enlivened by the comings and goings of my children and the neighbours, landscape and wild creatures of Prairie Sky Cohousing Cooperative. Poetry is one of the ways I stay awake to the presence of a lively matter-loving God who is fluidly present in all the ways I experience Earth. Poetry is also the way I participate in this aliveness, through the ever surprising and delightful process of words finding themselves on paper! I am delighted to be co-creating with Tonya whose life's work is poetry!
