Why study with them?

Buchung Nubgya is a master painter of the Tsang School of Tibetan art, a lineage dating to the 15th century. Trained from the age of nine under the patronage of His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama, he studied at Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and later contributed to the restoration of major Tibetan sacred sites, including the Jokhang Temple and Sera Monastery.
Since leaving Tibet in 1997, Buchung has created works for the residence of His Holiness the Dalal Lama, as well as monasteries and cultural institutions across India and around the world, while also training the next generation of Tibetan artists.
Now based in New York, he continues to create, exhibit, and conserve Tibetan art internationally. His work is held and exhibited by institutions including the Rubin Museum of Art and the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University.
