About us

Ella Luckett, founder of “Jai Yoga”, has been teaching yoga for 14 years and is certified through some of the world’s leading contemporary yoga teachers including Sharon Gannon, David Life of  JivaMukti, Shiva Rea of Prana Yoga and Trance Dance and with Larry Schultz in Ashtanga Yoga.  For 8 years Ella has been a member of the The Yoga Society of New York at Ananda Ashram where she studies with devotees of Shri Bramhanada Saraswati, including Joan Suval.  She practices Mantra meditation under the instruction of Gadahara Pandit, "Urban Monk,", as well as Music and Kirtan through Dave Stringer. Ella founded Jai Yoga in 2008 and now leads, classes, workshops, Yoga Teacher Trainings New York City yoga studio, Jai Yoga Arts, as well as in locations around the world. Jai Yoga is a dynamic, breath based, vinyasa flow coupled with contemplative wisdom from the yoga sutras, and many sources of eastern philosophy. Jai Yoga has two core principles. The first is “Energetic Alignment”: Alignment comes from within, and happens naturally, with single pointed mental focus, and abundant and tamed breath. The second is that yoga is truly about relationships. The point of the practice is to bring strength, flexibility and love to your relationship with yourself, your family, friends, co-workers and world. This does not mean becoming passively peaceful. It means living positively, truthfully, open, and free.
