Why study with them?

Meet Ushunawá, the son of the renowned Yawanawá leader and shaman Yuve (Pai Nany), and brother of Shaneihu Awanawá. This young man represents the hope and future of his people, as one of the guardians of the wisdom of the Yawanawá tradition.

From a young age, Ushunawá has been instructed in the ancestral knowledge of his culture thanks to the guidance of his father, Yuve (Pai Nany), and his direct contact with his father Pajé Kate. Through this process of deep initiation, Ushunawá has acquired valuable knowledge and learned the sacred traditions and rituals of his people.

In addition to being a leader and guardian of wisdom, Ushunawá is also a talented musician who plays many traditional songs skillfully on voice and guitar. His music is an emotive expression of the rich history and culture of his people and is a way of conveying the essence of their identity and their struggle for the preservation of their culture.
