About The Teacher

Having been raised since a child on a Macrobiotic diet and a holistic approach to health, Katy’s personal journey to abundant wellness has been a life long practice.  Since deciding to focus on Nutrition and bodywork she has explored many dietary modalities, natural medicinal traditions and movement styles.

She has studied and continues to explore: Nutrition (Certified BANT Nutritional Therapist), Raw Food Alchemy (Certified Chef Trainer Living Light Culinary Institute California, USA) and Yoga, which has been one of her integral practices for the past 20 years. She holds over 500hrs of certified training in a range of  yogic disciplines and body work techniques (Certified Yoga Alliance Yoga teacher,  Nosara Yoga Institute, School yoga Institute Ca and Pramananda yoga institute India). Her mantra is “your health is your wealth and your laughter is your legacy

During our retreat Katy will offer deeply restorative yoga & gentle miofacial release.  This is a deliciously luxurious class where your body is supported by props and gentle assists to enable you to slip into that ultimate state of bliss and relaxation. Restorative yoga enables the often overworked and super stimulated nervous system to switch over into the parasympathetic mode. The parasympathetic nervous system  being the rest and digest, the relax and renew setting that we all too often bypass in our busy modern lives.

Through subtle stretches and the use of a deeply mind calming breath you will experience those juicy Alpha brainwaves and oxytocin hit that is the perfect antidote to an active day and a salve for tired muscles.
