Why study with them?

I was introduced to Therapeutic Touch when I was very ill and attribute my survival to the use of this and other complementary therapies. In the late 1990s, when I recovered, I began learning the methodology and the theory behind TT and how to teach Therapeutic Touch. I studied under the two founders (Dolores Krieger and Dora Kuntz) and many of their students. Since 1998, I have been a practitioner of TT, attaining my teaching certification soon after in order to teach in Africa in 2005/6 (and 2010). With challenging access to health care, TT is extremely useful among home-care workers in sub-Saharan Africa, where HIV has had horrific impact on families and communities. Much of my training has been in the United States, and I have taught in both Canada the USA. For the past seven years, I have hosted a monthly practice group in my home and, more recently via zoom.
