About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Dr. Megan Hyslop (PhD) is a community clown artist and somatic therapist dedicated to wellbeing through play. She is of Scottish and English ancestry living as a guest on Turtle Island. Megan came to clowning through a dream that asked, what is the role of clowning in personal and collective healing?

Megan has an interdisciplinary doctorate in Indigenous views of land and clown medicine as mental health supports and a diploma in relational somatic therapy. Since 2014 she has offered clownesque playshops and performances in varied community venues. She creates songs, storybooks for grownups, and gardens, and she is a sister, partner, daughter, cousin, and auntie. She is thrilled to be joined by her mom Pam for this playshop!
