What is your specialty? At this point and time I am offering my services to hold space and as a support person for workshops, retreats and events. I can offer facilitation in Conscious Movement.
Years of Practice: Although these are skills that have developed over many years, I have become more focused on offering these services over the past 10 years.
Accreditation: I have a background in holistic body work including a diploma in jin Shin Do Acupressure & Hakomi and certification in Shiatsu, Level 1 Reiki and Therapeutic Touch. I do not practice as a body worker but do enjoy exchanging body work with friends and this training has given me the ability to hold space and support the healing work of others. I have many years of training and practice in Dance and Movement.
I trained professionally in Modern Dance and Contact Improvisation and practice many other forms of dance.
In recent years I have become involved with conscious movement and have taken programs in Soul Motion with a one year training Called the Way of the Moving Mystic. This was a 3 module immersive program bringing ritual and ceremony into conscious dance practice. I have been involved in the Nelson dance community for 15 years where I have performed in and organized many in dance events, I received two grants for dance projects that I created.
I am a former competitive Rhythmic Gymnast and am a certified NCCP level 2 coach. I have spent many years coaching and mentoring girls and women. I have a strong background in personal spiritual practices and meditation and have been on a personal healing path for many years, receiving many forms of therapy including inner child, somatic, plant medicine, counselling and body work. I spent 2 years attending women's grandmother teachings and circles with Rosalyn Grady in Nelson BC and 7 years connected to a spiritual community and teacher.
I studied meditation at the Kootenay Shambhala Centre and am currently taking an online meditation program and certification.
When I am not involved in all of the above, my passions, I also spend time working in the customer service, retail and hospitality industries. Many years of working in restaurants, hotels, retail, front desk and reception jobs have given me a strong foundation in customer relations and dealing with people from all walks of life in many different settings. I truly enjoy customer service and the momentary interactions I have with people that can make a difference in their day.
I currently work 3 days a week at The Kaslo Pharmacy. Other interests and passions are writing and photography.
What medicine do you work with? I sometimes use herbs for clearing space and cleansing such as sage or sweetgrass. I do not work with internal plant medicines as a practitioner, although I have used them in my own healing journey.
