About The Teacher

Karen Harris teaches Religious Studies at Humboldt State University. She offers training in the history and philosophy of India to yoga teachers and practitioners, and recently taught Yoga and the Art of Spiritual Leadership, a J-term class at Harvard Divinity School. Karen has traveled extensively in Asia, studying and practicing in monasteries, nunneries, and ashrams in India, Japan, Nepal, and Tibet. She and her two children lived in residence at Zen Mountain Monastery from 1982 to 1984.
