ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Learn about Jose in his own words: In June of 2017, I jumped in my car with much uncertainty, and set out from my home near Troy, NY on my first trip to Easton Mountain. Being a married man, newly out to my wife and children, there were few people in my life to provide the much- needed validation and support I needed at the time. Was Easton Mountain the right choice for me? Although it only took 40 minutes to get to Easton, I had no clue about the epic journey still to follow. From the moment I arrived, I received a warm welcome and unconditional acceptance by like-minded men. It was clear I had chosen well, so I vowed to make Easton Mountain an important part of my life. Since my first visit, I have made a concerted effort to volunteer at Easton as often as possible. Friendship after friendship has ensued. Now I’m enshrouded by a community of love and support that continues to expand. Because of the Easton community, I have gained much confidence and pride as a gay man and have been blessed to be able to support to other men. My desire to contribute to the Easton community has only intensified. For 37 years, I’ve been a radiologic technologist, working the past 26 years at Albany Memorial Hospital. I’m also a licensed massage therapist, having graduated in 2009, from the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy, in Albany, NY. Health and the human body are of great interest to me. As part of my continuing journey, I’m thrilled now to have the opportunity to facilitate a workshop called “Intimate Healing” in which I can impart some of my therapeutic knowledge, to the extent that I am able, with my brothers at Easton Mountain. My goal is to provide useful tools for enhancing the health and well-being of every participant, while continuing to make meaningful connections.
