About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Freddy is an award winning Singer-Songwriter, music producer, festival organizer and workshop facilitator. He has organized LGBTQ music events like Qnity, Bearapalooza and Out in the Woods, and has been nominated three times for Outmusician of the year. Freddy has shared his eclectic, inspirational brand of rock and gospel-inspired songwriting with thousands, exploring issues of body image, masculinity and gender expression with sensitive lyricism and warm vocals. After over a decade of performing at Bear events, he craved one that fostered deeper interactions and real community, so he created Bear Your Soul at Easton Mountain.
Jay is a talented percussionist, producer and vocalist. He adds a unique element to Freddy's music wiht his harmonies and a variety of hand drums and shakers. He has been co-hosting Bear Your Soul with his husband Freddy from the beginning. Jay has recently embarked on a shamanic path and uses his love of nature and reverence for wonder to lead Bear Your Soul’s Fire Rituals and naming ceremony.
