Kirsten Dickerson is an artist and designer dwelling at the intersection of faith, ecology, and creativity.
She is the Sustainability Director of O Refúgio, embracing Slow Living on a farm + retreat center in Northern Portugal.
Kirsten Dickerson is an award-winning thought leader for faith-based advocacy as well as regenerative practices in business, travel, creation care, and design. She is a current Artist-in-Residence at O Refúgio Retreat and Farm in Northern Portugal, as well as an independent consultant on artisan collaborations and social business initiatives. She and her husband, Brandon Dickerson, are the founders of ARTIST & NOMAD, a nonprofit dedicated to curating retreats and workshops that encourage you to embrace wonder, rest, creativity, and play. Dickerson spent 20 years in global nonprofit leadership and many years as an art director for the film industry in California. She has traveled to over 35 countries for philanthropic work and artisan collaborations. She is the co-founder of Raven + Lily, an ethical fashion brand dedicated to empowering women. Kirsten is also the former President of Tirzah International, a faith-based empowerment organization focused on creating opportunities for women to discover their potential through micro-enterprise, leadership development, and sustainability initiatives. Kirsten has utilized her design and artistic skills to help renovate retreat centers, businesses, and private homes, following her passion for ethical design and regenerative practices.
Kirsten currently mentors emerging leaders, coaches new ethical design brands, and curates global insider trips and retreats that celebrate creativity, contemplation, and creation care, as well as give back to local communities. She is a seasoned speaker on empowering women and children, slow living, faith-based advocacy, and creation care initiatives. She is also the author of devotional booklets that complement the themes of ARTIST & NOMAD retreats: Meditations for a Traveler and FLORA + FAUNA: Meditations on Psalms and Parables.

Kirsten considers herself a minimalist, nature enthusiast, and slow-living advocate. She is an artist who spends time with nature-based creative projects such as watercolor, flower pressing, botanical prints, and natural dyes. She hosts monthly creative arts workshops for women in her local Portuguese village, as well as workshops for guests that stay at O Refúgio.
Kirsten is married to filmmaker Brandon Dickerson, her best friend since college. Together, they live in beautiful Northern Portugal along the Douro River at O Refúgio Retreat and have two young adult kids living in the states.
