Kabir & Gitama

About The Teacher

Gitama is exploring the voice and singing since many years. Growing up with classical music she later felt drawn to world music and spiritual songs. The healing aspect of sound became a major interest of her work and practice. She is a gifted flute player, playing both silver and bamboo flutes. Besides the passion for music she is a sought after healer and bodyworker.

Kabir plays guitar and the Indian sitar. He sings, composes and is a music producer, working in his own recording studio. He is practicing and teaching Yoga and is a refined body worker.

They are living since 1999 in Pacha Mama (Costa Rica), a spiritual growth community and work as body workers and musicians, playing live music for communal events, leading singing circles and singing seminars. Lately they have been drawn to shamanistic practice learning with teachers from different tribes of South America.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

This sounds like a dream! I am an education student and I have spent way too much time working all summer to pay for school. My boyfriend of 5 years is a government firefighter and has been away working most of the summer. His 30th Birthday and our 6th anniversary is coming up this winter, we would love to celebrate with a yoga retreat! We both love yoga but have barley had time to practice in the past few months. Keeping our fingers crossed! Jaimee and Dan
