About us

Susan Carol Stone, Ph.D., has practiced mindfulness for thirty years. She teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the University of Virginia and is a teacher with the Insight Meditation Community of Charlottesville. A graduate of the Community Dharma Leader Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center (CA), she has taught mindfulness in a variety of settings, including men’s and women’s prisons and in a middle school. She leads retreats in a multi-state area. She has lived in Zen and Theravadan Buddhist monasteries and is ordained as a Zen lay priest. Susan is also a Reiki master who has worked with AIDS patients. She is author of At the Eleventh Hour, about mindfulness and caregiving and is currently writing a trilogy of historical novels set in the time of the Buddha. The first of these, The Kosambi Intrigue, is available on Amazon, and the second, The Jealous Heart, is soon to be published on Amazon.
