About us

Background: Cheryl, E-RYT500, has been teaching Sanskrit, vedic chant and yoga philosophy since 2004, and yoga asana since 1998. She has completed four trips to India to study ashtanga vinyasa with Rolf & Marci Naujokat, and Sanskrit & vedic chant at Sannidhi of Krishnamacarya Yoga (SKY) and the Krishnamacarya Yoga Mandiram (KYM).

Philosophy: Her style is warm and compassionate, enthusiastic and patient. She gently encourages students out of their comfort zone toward practice, understanding and transformation.

Unique/personal: She is one of only 30 Certified Vedic Chant Teachers in North America, and has passed the GCSE Examination in Sanskrit offered by Cambridge University. She owns Dave’s Astanga Yoga and Authentic Yoga Teacher training in Scottsdale.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

This sounds like a dream! I am an education student and I have spent way too much time working all summer to pay for school. My boyfriend of 5 years is a government firefighter and has been away working most of the summer. His 30th Birthday and our 6th anniversary is coming up this winter, we would love to celebrate with a yoga retreat! We both love yoga but have barley had time to practice in the past few months.
