Christina Francesca

About The Teacher

Christina is a registered Yoga Alliance RYT200 teacher from the Ananda School of Yoga and Meditation. She has been teaching yoga and fitness for six years. From various modalities studied around the world, Christina discovered the benefits of contemplative arts, organic movement, and holistic health in healing oneself. She sees it fundamental to restoration, freedom, and unlocking and renewing positive energies physical, mental, and spiritual. She currently lives and serves at the Ananda Meditation Retreat.

Christina is an Ananda Yoga certified instructor from the Expanding Light Meditation and Yoga Retreat in Nevada City, CA and is a Registered Yoga Teacher 200+ with the Yoga Alliance. Her foundational training and practice is in Expressive Yoga from Barefoot Sanctuary in Las Vegas, NV. Here she lead classes and workshops ranging from core yoga, restorative yoga, Hatha yoga, and Vinyasa yoga. She also facilitated special holiday events and fundraisers.

Christina’s other qualifications include: Reiki Level I (Healing Trinity), personal training (World International Training Schools), indoor cycling (Schwinn United Kingdom). She has professionally taught toddlers and children how to swim as well as adults and dancers ballet-inspired fitness at Pure Barre. Having a father who owned and operated a martial arts school in San Francisco, CA for 25 years, Christina’s inspiration for holistic health and mind/body awareness began at a young age.

Hungry for more classical teachings, she completed a karma yoga program at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Kerala, India. In recent times, to gain more exposure in contemplative arts, she completed a "Dathun" program in Tibetan Buddhist meditation study at the Shambhala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, CO. Raised between San Francisco and Las Vegas, Christina naturally adopted a desire to travel and explore various forms of exercise and nutrition - she continued to explore these in England, Denmark, and the Philippines.

Today Christina serves and resides at the Ananda Meditation Retreat in Nevada City. She leads yoga and meditation classes for various programs and personal retreats. She herself has experimented with a gamut of diets and detoxes on the modern market as well as the more traditional approaches. She shares the yogic philosophies and lifestyle as the editor and writer for Inner Path, a spiritual resource center and yoga studio in Nevada City downtown. She further advocates conscious consumption by teaching online English composition courses - with the theme "What’s in Your Food?" - through the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has lived at the Ananda Meditation Retreat since January 2016.
