Caprice Sage Abowitt

About The Teacher

A classically trained dancer, Caprice has been teaching movement to children for more than a decade. She graduated with a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts, where she showed strength and passion for pedagogy. Following her 200-hour certification with YogaWorks, Caprice developed curriculum and children’s yoga programs for Microsoft (PRO Sports Club), the Stroum Jewish Community Center, Sacred Sounds Yoga, and many private nursery and preschools, both secular and religious. She has developed and taught workshops in public schools and after-school programs for a wide range of ages. Additionally, Caprice studied with Debra Flashenberg and Nikita Maxwell at the Prenatal Yoga Center and currently co-leads their teacher training program. In search of more ways to serve her students, Caprice became a certified birth doula through DONA in early 2014. Caprice lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their sweet cat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My inspiration is a desire to gain a deeper connection to and understanding of myself, something that I've been working hard on for so long and will continue to do in the future. I view a retreat as a wonderful way to focus entirely on this without the distractions of every day life! Nicola

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
