About us

Madhukar is a modern master of the ancient Indian Advaita. Advaita is the bliss to be one with oneself and the world. Madhukar is a direct disciple of Papaji, Sri H.W.L. Poonja, whose master is the famous sage Sri Ramana Maharshi. Madhukar founded the Yoga of Silence, probably the oldest and most effective guide to happiness. In Yoga of Silence enlightenment can be experienced and realized. Madhukar gets invited worldwide to more than 250 events per year.

Born in Stuttgart/Germany in 1957, Madhukar began already in his youth to ask a multitude of philosophical and spiritual questions that should remain unanswered for a long time, far beyond his studies (philosophy and business management). They only grew more urgent after an experience of Oneness in the Himalayas and a near-death experience. In 1985 he experienced a spontaneous Kundalini awakening. Thereupon, he ended his career as a TV journalist, became a student of the Dzogchen master Namkhai Norbu and continued looking for absolute truth.

This search ended in 1992 in India where he met Sri H.W.L. Poonja. Madhukar had arrived at his master. His quest led him to his master and ultimately awakened him to his own true nature. He describes his Awakening as pure grace.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I go on retreat to remember who I really am. And I remember that I am alive, Deryk
