Jack Lehman

About us

Jack began his formal training with the Marist Brothers, a Catholic religious order, at the age of sixteen, and held religious vows for four years. After completing his BA in French Literature, he earned an MA in Philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris. Jack then lived in Asia for 10 years, where he encountered the work of J. Krishnamurti, whom he considers to be his spiritual father, and practiced Vipassana under the tutelage of SN Goenka. In Japan he trained in Karate, attaining a third-degree Black Belt, and then focused on the essence of the martial arts. He returned to India and taught the latter in the Rajneesh ashram in Poona, India, where he became the personal body guard of Osho (Rajneesh) and moved back to the U.S. with him. After leaving the Osho community in 1985, Jack settled in Santa Fe and earned an MA in Counseling Psychology. He maintains a private practice in psychotherapy, specializing in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Nonviolent Communication. Passionate about getting free of conditioning, he is currently exploring the interface of tango, high country equine adventure and abiding in the present.
