Rosemary Agoglia

About us

Rosemary Agoglia is an educator who has worked with students of all ages, designed curriculum, conducted workshops, written articles, and presented at national conferences. She has a B.A. from the University of Buffalo and an M.A. in Education from the University of Massachusetts. From 1975 – 2002 she served as Head Teacher at The Common School. There she worked with children ages 3 – 8 engaging them in their own learning and cultivating habits of inquiry and critical thinking skills. Through interactions with a rich variety of materials, tools and media she encouraged her students to develop their understanding of self, others, and community; both their own and that of other people and cultures. It was her interest in developing curriculum which allowed students to explore and discover for themselves that led her to embrace the Italian Reggio-inspired model of early childhood education. For the past ten years Rosemary has been Curator of Education at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Trained in Visual Thinking Strategies, she works with visitors of all ages providing links between visual and verbal literacy and fostering the confidence to appreciate and enjoy art of every kind.
