About The Teacher
Eric has devoted his life to the study of the traditional sciences of Asia, their ancient texts and living transmissions. He currently maintains a clinical practice of classical Tibetan, Chinese, and Ayurvedic medicines in India and California. As an instructor with Sorig Khang International, he has teaches Tibetan Medicine and other subjects in many centers around the world.
Under Dr. Nida Chenagtsang and other Tibetan doctors in the US and Asia, learned the practice of Tibetan medicine. In 2006 he founded what would become the Sorig Institute of Tibetan Medicine in California with Dr Nida, where he continues to work actively in developing Tibetan medical programs. In addition to the university studies needed to become a licensed acupuncturist, he trained with traditional teachers in classical Chinese herbal medicine and pulse diagnosis. Eric lived in India for many years, studying various Indian sciences, including Ayurvedic text and clinical practice, and Jyotisha (Vedic astro-sciences).
Eric is also involved with various humanitarian projects, directing the Ngakmang Foundation, a charity working in Tibet to preserve the lineage of Ngakpas – Tibetan yogis, and other projects in the Himalayan regions. He is an active member of the Dunagiri Foundation, working in the Indian Himalayas to preserve and cultivate threatened alpine medicine plants.
